One of the most respected names in English Wine sponsors the ICCWS
grapes from our own vineyards in Kent and Sussex which are planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (with a high proportion of Burgundy clones). A combination of the best age-old traditions with modern technology and cutting-edge equipment allows us to sit comfortably between old and new world winemaking, while at the same time bringing our own exacting quality standards to the process. Extended time on the lees is essential to meeting these standards and all our wines spend a minimum of 36 months in the process.
Why has Gusbourne decided to sponsor ICCWS 2016?
“England is one of the most exciting emerging wine regions, and is defined by its cool climate.” explains Gusbourne’s CEO Ben Walgate. “Over the last few years we have started to see the extraordinary potential of our sub-regions which previously had a prestigious local reputation for winemaking in the Middle Ages. These same areas are now making sparkling wines to the highest international standards. Understanding how best to work in harmony with our cool climate is central to our ambition. I’m a passionate believer in continually pushing our own standards and ICCWS can help everyone in cool climate areas to seek higher goals.”
