Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours

ArblasterClarkeArblaster & Clarke Wine Tours, the world’s leading wine tours company, offers inspirational high-quality escorted tours to almost 30 countries. Popular concepts in wine tourism including ‘the Champagne Weekend’, ‘the Wine Cruise’ and ‘the Vineyard Walk’ stem partly from Arblaster & Clarke’s pioneering activities over the past 28 years.

Arblaster & Clarke are always pushing the boundaries of wine tourism in unique and interesting ways. For example, this year a range of tours focusing on more natural wine and organic and biodynamic viticulture has been introduced.

Why are Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours sponsoring the ICCWS:

Terroir is best expressed in marginal climates making these perhaps the most interesting wine regions to visit. Cool climate regions have been core to A&C’s programme since the very beginning; the first tour escorted by Lynette Arblaster and Tim Clarke in 1987 was to Champagne, this was followed shortly by the Loire, Northern Burgundy and Mosel. Almost all the world’s cool climate regularly feature in the programme including for example Central Otago, Hemel-en-Aarde in South Africa, Rias Baixas in Spain, Kartli in Georgia, Etna in Sicily, Willamette Valley in Oregon and the South Downs in England.

The 2016 ICCWS is a milestone for English Wine, coming just as English Sparkling Wine achieves the recognition that it deserves. Arblaster & Clarke Wine Tours, who are based within the South Downs National Park and close to its great vineyards, are delighted to be a sponsor of this international wine event.

The ethos has always been to give a holiday experience beyond the ordinary. The tours are designed and set up by our experienced team and are escorted by approachable wine experts including MWs. Whilst wine education is an important part of the tours, we are also celebrating wine in its local context, never forgetting the positive virtues of wine and wine culture.

A&C strongly believe that wine tourism when at the highest level has massive benefits all round. We are very grateful to the owners and winemakers of the wineries that we visit for sharing their time, knowledge and wine with us. They often tell us how much they too have appreciated our visits, because of our clients’ understanding of their region and wines and their genuine enthusiasm.
